Basic SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) is to plan a route of the walk with an emergency contact. 1) assess the situation

-What is the nature of the emergency?

2) Develop a response plan

-Always to reconsider and modify any plan as needed.

-You delegate responsibility to the group (with the help of the victim, for position on the map, tents, etc.)

 

3) Make the victim comfortable

-Maintenance of body temperature

To protect victims of the elements

 

4) Keep first aid member of the group with the victim at any time

 

5) Keep busy with other work group members useful

-Helps keep your mind off the situation

6) Be sure to consult with members of another group
